Upholstery fabrics: what you need to know
Durability, care, feel and colour: what to look for when choosing upholstery.
· Редакция Livingspace (демо)

Upholstery is something we touch every day, so a fabric should be chosen for more than its colour.
Durability
Manufacturers state abrasion resistance in Martindale test cycles. For a living room sofa that is used daily, it is better to aim for higher values — check them in the documentation for the specific fabric.
Texture and care
- Bouclé and basket weave hide small signs of use well.
- Velour gives a deep colour but needs careful maintenance.
- Natural fabrics feel pleasant but may crease more.
Colour
Look at samples in daylight and next to the other materials in the interior: the floor, cabinet fronts and textiles.
